HI-REV SIC Dream Chaser rookie driver Ady Rahimy was crowned the Champion of 2019 in the S-Production 2 (SP2) class driving a Suzuki Swift car number 90. Ady Rahimy, 2018 e-MCS champion and SIC Talent Development Programme driver, clinched the ultimate goal in the 54 laps race by finishing in fifth. The rookie driver has won 5 races and 2 second places out of a total of 9 races in the Malaysia Championship Series 2019 season.
The race was declared a wet race and the safety car was deployed at the start of the race. The track condition was very slippery and it was like dancing on ice in the first 5 laps. Ady spun at the first lap and had to do an unscheduled pit stop at the third lap due to a punctured tyre before the pit windows open with two more compulsory pit stops to go. He joined back the race to fight his way up from the back of the grid all the way into fifth place at the chequered flag.
In the Malaysia Touring Car (MTC) class, HI-REV SIC Dream Chaser drivers Adam Khalid and CY Ong in another Suzuki Swift car number 100, finished the season with an Overall Third in the Championship. Another 2018 e-MCS champion and SIC Talent Development Programme driver Angeline Lee with her German partner Sophia Menzenbach in a Ford Fiesta, car number 9, played a big part in helping Adam and CY securing their Third Overall Championship by finishing in a commendable seventh place despite such treacherous conditions.
It is another Championship powered by HI-REV!
